Calcium and Magnesium Supplement
A Cure for Stage Fright?

stagefright

A calcium and magnesium supplement is essential for healthy bones and teeth but more importantly it regulates the nerves and muscles in your body and keeps you relaxed, so it's a must for auditions and performance nerves.

How can I tell if I'm deficient in magnesium?

Because magnesium plays such an important, but varied role in the body, the symptoms of magnesium deficiency can vary a lot.

They include muscle weakness, tremors, and spasms. In the heart muscle, magnesium deficiency can result in arrhythmia. So pretty serious stuff!

But taking magnesium is only half the story. You need to take a calcium and magnesium supplement. This is because the two elements work together. Without magnesium, calcium is not fully absorbed which can lead to arthritis, osteoporosis, menstrual cramps, and some premenstrual symptoms.

Like many other ailments common today our magnesium deficiencies can be linked to our poor diet.

Thousands of years ago, our ancestors ate foods high in magnesium and low in calcium. Because calcium was hard to come by (not many cows in those days!) and the need for this vital mineral was great, evolution made us store the calcium. Magnesium, on the other hand, was abundant, in the form of nuts, seeds, grains, and vegetables, and did not need to be stored in our bodies.

This is still true today (our digestive system hasn't evolved much at all over the years..) but now we have a much greater calcium intake through all the dairy we consume. In addition, our sugar and alcohol consumption is much higher. Which is a problem as sugars increase the flushing of magnesium from our system.

So having that drink to calm your nerves maybe isn't the best option!

Also the over-farming and the modern-day ills of mass-production have decreased the available magnesium in our food.

Watch the video below to see how important magnesium is to our body's wellbeing...
