Music Entertains - Clips of Funny Videos

Music is seen as a serious profession but there is often a lot of fun going on behind the scenes. I have trawled the internet to show you these clips of funny videos, to show you the lighter side to music and musicians..

My first funny video is the amazingly funny Rowan Atkinson, before his Mr Bean days.

Amazing don't you think? I spent many hours looking for clips of funny videos and there are only a few really outstanding examples. With Rowan Atkinson being top of the pile for me. We'll come back to Rowan later..

The next video is of two guys playing one flute (you may have already seen this one on my blog). If you are musician yourself you will know how much time and effort must have been involved to bring this off. Well done guys!

If you have ever been part of an orchestra you will know that each section has it's own stereotypes (which are often surprisingly TRUE!)

Staying with the woodwinds we have a short film about the life of an oboist. I hope this doesn't upset too many of them..

As musicians we often get annoyed with ourselves when things don't go well, but of course being human means we will always blame our tools first. So the next two funny video clips are for anyone who has wanted to destroy parts or ALL of their instrument..

Now for some more early Rowan Atkinson. This video clip was from a live show and shows Rowan playing an invisible drum kit!

Moving from percussion to the string family we have an awesome double bass quartet, showing that old classics like Beethoven can be given a new twist..

In this world it's not only humans who make music. The animal kingdom was way ahead of us in that arena. But who'd have thought that a cat could play the piano...

Of course musicians aren't the only ones having fun, conductors also get to goof around. These last two clips of Rowan Atkinson show the power that conductors have sometimes, but also how they are often not needed AT ALL!! If you have been watching the BBC's Maestro recently you will have heard many times that the orchestra saved the conductors skin!
