About Me

Developing the ear for music at early age and involvement of parents go a long way

by George Walker
(Jacksonville. Florida, USA)

The Suzuki Teaching Method is the right way to learn music properly and to excel in the field. I was impressed with their thoughts that to be a successful musician, development of the ear to pick up the notes is needed and that is quite easy for a young child.

As music is not something produced out of mechanically following the directions to produce a certain musical note, it is most important to learn by ear and then to produce a piece of music from the symbols.

Parental involvement is a factor which helps a lot while learning music. And practice has no substitute in learning - be it music or anything else. Long hours of practice brings perfection which cannot be obtained otherwise.

The Suzuki Teaching Method has helped my son to learn violin within a short period of time and I expect him to have the ability to perform much better than the average musician.

Their lessons - group, paired and individual - imparted by competent teachers is really effective. I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about learning music.
