Music Teaching Methods Explored

Before we look at which music teaching methods are out there I think it is important to look at why teaching your child music is so important.

The majority of music teaching in our schools and our homes is the same method that has been used for hundreds of years. I call it the trial and error method or teach how you were taught. It probably explains why music teaching varies so much from teacher to teacher as everyone has their own way of doing things which may or may not fit the child they are teaching. Having said this a great way to find a conventional teacher is through an agency like this one.

On this basis you can see why certain individuals decided there must be a better way to teach children music, which brings us to the Suzuki Method and the Kodaly teaching method.

Unfortunately both Suzuki and Kodaly classes are not available everywhere, usually just in major towns and cities so if you live in the middle of nowhere you may need a Skype lesson.
