Musicians Health
by James

I never worried about my health. Then my physician found a testicular lump that he thought was cancerous. After some more checkups and an ultrasound I was found to be cancer-free.
I'm a singer-songwriter and so don't have private medical insurance, but the appointments and procedures cost me only $40.
This is due to the fact that I'm enrolled in the
Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, a nonprofit organisation providing almost 2,000 Austin musicians with low-cost health care each year.
The mission of the
Health Alliance for Austin Musicians is to provide access to affordable health care for Austin's low income, uninsured musicians, focusing on prevention and wellness.
