Physiotherapy on Forefinger

It was two years ago, when during a basketball match I got a hit by an opponent while trying to shoot the ball. My right forefinger ached really badly and soon it was very swollen.
X-Rays showed that the forefinger had suffered a fracture. I was asked to visit a physiotherapist when we noticed that the finger still ached a lot.
The physiotherapist checked the X-rays and then focused on the forefinger itself. During the next days I visited him every day on regular appointments. He massaged it, checking in which areas it ached more (I guess) and felt the swelling. He would then use some devices, I am not sure what exactly they were. One of them included water that was warm and seemed like splashing bubbles. Another would keep the finger straight and adjust pressure on the sides of it.
After about a week of visits the finger stopped aching and the X-ray was looking good too.
Ever since then, I know that physiotherapy can provide serious pain relief and can speed up the healing process.
