Stage Flop Goes Straight To DVD

by Ryan
(St. Louis, MO, USA)

When I was in seventh grade, we did the Fiddler on the Roof musical at school. It was the first musical I had ever done. For a long time, I had wanted to be an actor, though I played guitar for a while too. So I decided to see if I could sing. I could, but just not well enough to get a lead role so I was in the chorus.

Every night we went on, I did that bottle dance. It sucked, but I also had a few lines. I did well during rehearsal and even better during the first couple of shows. But on the final night and the night we were filming I completely messed up, everything went wrong. I Messed up the bottle dance, forgot my lines and a bunch of other nuances. I got over it but then the DVD came out!! and my whole family saw me flopping and started laughing again. I had to destroy it afterwards because I hated it so much. I quit musicals and acting soon after that.

I still remember that day with embarrassment!!
