suzuki has changed my life!!!

I started learning the violin when i was 4 with the suzuki method. I'm now 14 and currently working to my grade 7. I'm so glad I learnt to play the good way with the suzuki method, if I had'nt learnt to play the violin I wouldn't have ended up as a chorister at lincoln cathedral!! my brother also learnt the piano with the suzuki method and has done his grade 8 and is going to cambridge university and will sing in the St Johns choir!!

I think suzuki is so good the way that you learn by ear. i love the fact when I was younger and first started learning, my teacher put hula hoops on the end of my bow and you had to stretch your arm so that you had to use all of your bow in order to eat the hula hoops :)

i also think that its good that you get to play in concerts from a young age, this gets you used to playing in front of people so now I don't get nervous when I'm about to play in a concert.

Every week on a saturday I went to group lessons which is a good way to make you play with people. I'm now in so many groups such as string orchestra, orchestra, string quartet, and a jazz club!

When I was younger my teacher drew around my feet on a mat and there were 3 positions: 1 was feet together, 2 was apart but together at the ankles and the third was move your ankles in line with your toes.

I had a practice chart and each day we had to tick the day off!!!

I would strongly recommend learning suzuki method especially for children!

I have found the experience fun and enjoyable!
