About Me

Tendonitis From Bass Playing

by Liam Miller
(Wauseon, Ohio, USA)

I'm a guitarist who took a job playing bass in a pop cover band. I met them on Wednesday, learned 4 sets, practiced them all with them on Thursday, and played the gig Friday night.

I was with them for a few months after that, but the initial onslaught of playing the much heavier strings on the bass damaged my wrist and hand, almost definitely was tendonitis. I have had problems since that day 20 years ago!

My cure is to fill both sinks, one with super hot water and one with super cold, and hold my hands in each for about half a minute back and forth a few times.
