About Me

When playing an instrument becomes "uncool"

by Kellan
(Bangor, UK)

I started playing the flute when I was eight years old. I hated practicing but still wanted to get the solo in one of my band concerts! Of course, I didn't get the solo but continued playing. I also tried to teach myself to play piano (couldn't afford lessons) but I didn't really know what I was doing.

By the time I was 13 I had moved to a new school where band wasn't really the "cool" thing to do, so I gave it up. As for the piano, I managed to teach myself a few pieces really well, but that's it!

I'd love to be musically gifted but at my age I don't think it's going to happen. :)
